Cutting Boards
​I understand how hard it is to bring yourself to make that first cut on a beautiful cutting board, but it is made to be used. Every cut that you make is a memory of a meal...a memory of breaking bread with family and friends.
My standard boards are a beefy butcher block style but I offer a variety of size and grain orientations, and a variety of wood combinations and pricing. I offer several design options to choose from; these are on display in the gallery below, but I am glad to customize. Ordering and Pricing information are provided below.

The grain of the cutting face of edge and face grain boards is raised (pre-swollen) twice and sanded out before finishing so it will stay smooth after wetting. Non-slip rubber feet to keep your board in place while you work and finger holds are milled into the ends for easy handling; both are standard features of edge and end grain boards.
The boards are finished with food safe mineral oil and topped off with a beeswax paste conditioner that I blend in house. Every board comes with a 1 ounce complimentary jar of conditioner (approx. 4-5 applications for a medium board) and instructions for care.
Boards are available with or without a juice groove. Boards are available with or without board stands (oak) for vertical countertop storage (also finished with mineral oil). A re-supply of board conditioner is available for order.

Board Stands - Red Oak If you would like to store and display your cutting board vertically on your counter top, a set of board stands is all you need. These are sized for a medium board, are made from red oak, and finished with mideral oil, same as your cutting board. Sold in pairs.

Ordering
The medium edge grain boards are produced in batches which are typically planned prior to attending craft shows, in the spring before Mothers & Fathers Day, and in the fall before Christmas; any orders placed for individual boards will be filled when those batch jobs are scheduled, but orders of 4 or more boards will be added into my project lineup. The large and super duty boards, and end grain boards of all sizes are made to order.
Board Care Instructions

Wash gently by hand after use. DO NOT put in the dishwasher.

If your board starts to look dry, it can be replenished by applying pharmacy grade mineral oil, which is food safe and can be purchased in most drug and hardware stores.

Pour a 3-inch puddle of mineral oil on your board.

Spread the oil coating the surface (add more as needed to evenly coat).

Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then wipe off any excess with a clean cotton rag.

Apply a second coat until the board is saturated.

Let it sit for another 10 minutes, then wipe off the excess.

Apply a final seasoning coat of the 1812 board conditioner supplied with your board. Put a dollop of paste onto your board and rub it into the board using a clean cotton rag. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then rub it in further using small circular strokes with a clean cotton rag, then wipe and buff lengthwise with the grain it until there is no residue on the surface and it is soft and smooth. After it cures for a couple of hours, it should be soft to the touch and ready for use again.

Repeat this process as desired whenever it looks dry.
